10 killed by landslide

At least 10 people were killed and many more were injured Wednesday in a landslide on a road in India, in the northern Himalayas, authorities said.

“A bus with 20-25 people on board was crushed by the wreckage. “Fourteen people who were injured were rescued,” police said in a statement.

In all, about 60 people may have been overwhelmed by tons of rocks, soil, and stones.

A police officer at the scene described to the French Agency that the landslide is not over and that rocks continue to fall on the road, making rescue operations difficult.
