Bishop Hon. Kawira Mwangaza discussed the state of the dilapidated road connecting the Mwangaza gender-based violence and rescue center to the main road with Professor Margaret Kobia, Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Public Service and Gender.

She thanked the cabinet secretary for her prompt response. The road has been repaired.

Despite her suggestions for better government-owned land in Igembe, Imenti, and Buuri, she was given swampy government land at Nkomo-Tigania west when she approached Kiraitu Murungi’s Meru county offices.

Because of the swampy land, the Meru county government anticipated that the project would not be completed due to construction delays. Extra metal materials were required at the foundation level, so the construction budget was increased.

The original plan was to construct a high-rise structure, but due to the swampy nature of the land, this proved impractical. Bishop Hon. Kawira Mwangaza, on the other hand, is the first Kenyan leader to raise funds for the construction of a rescue center.

President Uhuru is expected to be present for the opening of the rescue center once the construction of two additional buildings is completed.

She thanked God for the project’s progress and expressed gratitude because the rescue center will assist victims of gender-based violence and provide numerous job opportunities.

The rescue center also serves as a storage facility for operation okolea kaana ka miiru items.
