At least six civilians were killed and seven others were injured when a bus carrying them was hit by a bomb in the Afghan capital, Kabul, on Tuesday night, an interior ministry official said.
“According to initial reports, six civilians were killed and seven others were injured. The death toll may change, “said Hamid Rossan, an interior ministry official.
The bloody incident took place near a bus stop in Mastid-i-Halebid around 19:15 (local time), he clarified.
Based on the information gathered so far, the bomb was detonated remotely, the same official said.
Residents told Afghan media that shortly after the first, there was a second explosion in the area.
No action has been taken on the action so far. In recent years, the Afghan capital has come under dozens of attacks, both from Taliban insurgents and Islamic State (IS) jihadists.
Violence is escalating in Afghanistan as US and NATO forces continue to withdraw from the country.
