Baby dumped in a garbage bin in town

An abandoned baby boy was found dead in a bin at the bottom of a garbage chute in Meru town.

Boda boda operators found the baby inside a plastic bag with blood in it among piles of garbage. The infant appeared to be 2-months-old.

“Women have turned evil as the number of abortions in Meru County has increased. The child is about two months old. It’s heartbreaking to discover a baby abandoned in a paper bag and dumped in a recycling bin,” said a resident of Meru town.

A bodaboda operator said that he initially mistook it for a baby doll.

” When I arrived at the scene near our boda boda shed, I was told to check the recycling bin. I was initially skeptical and asked them to inform me of what was there. They insisted on me personally verifying it. At first, I mistook it for a baby doll, but upon closer inspection, I realized it was a real baby. My coworkers had not confirmed it, and when I told them what it was, they were shocked,” he said.

“God does not approve of the incident, and the suspect should be treated as a murderer. If a woman does not want to have children, there are other options for preventing pregnancy, such as implants, abstinence, and the use of pills,” said another boda boda operator.

“Today’s youth engage in irresponsible sexual behavior, and when they become pregnant by accident, they choose abortion because they are not ready to be parents,” said another resident.

Recently, some cases of babies found after being abandoned by their parents were also reported. A baby was found alive in a pit toilet in Kwa Ng’ombe-Imenti, Meru County on May 10, while another decomposing body of a baby was in a Landfill in Kooje-Imenti In Meru County.
