Gankere-Imenti residents demand release of man detained in elephant’s murder

Residents protested in Gankere-Imenti, demanding the release of one of their own accused of killing an elephant.

The police eventually brought calm to the area. However, the residents continue to claim that the man, known as Ndumba who was detained, was innocent. 

According to one of the residents who spoke to BaiteTv, he urged the MCA, MP, and Meru county governor to bail out the individual who was fined Ksh 300,00 for killing the elephant. He went on to say that it is the KWS’ responsibility to protect elephants.
