A storm of angry reactions has been caused by a mother in Ukraine, who left her 2-year-old daughter to die of severe burns after falling into a pot of hot water for chicken soup.
This is because the 18-year-old practicing doctor, Darina Gorova, did not offer the little one medical help, but preferred to treat the burns with traditional medicine.
According to local media, the mother consulted “traditional medicine specialists”, who gave her ointments for burns, instead of taking her to a hospital.
Lesya had suffered horrific burns to her abdomen and back after falling into a pot of boiling water that her mother used to cook chicken soup.
Five days later, it was her grandmother who, when she visited her, saw the little girl’s serious wounds and insisted that she be taken to the hospital immediately.
However, it was too late to be saved, as she breathed her last ten days later.
Police are now examining the possibility of premeditated murder, while Darina and her 29-year-old husband, Ivan Gorov, if convicted, risk 7 to 15 years in prison.

According to officials, Darina did not take care of protecting her daughter from the boiling water, while the traditional treatments she imposed on her did not help treat her burns. “As a medical student, she should even know it,” they note.
“We can not understand why Lesya was not immediately taken to the hospital to be saved. “He is a future doctor,” said her neighbors in Bakhmach.
