St Luke Kimilili Boys High School was razed by fire on Monday night. It is alleged that the main cause of the fire is due to electric default.

According to the video shared online, a raging fire was seen coming from a store building dormitory.

On the same scene, students were seen running up and down with buckets of water trying to put out the fire.

Up to now, no casualties have been reported. The students lost bedding, books and other personal belongings worth millions of shillings

Fire extinguishers from the county government of Bungoma are alleged to be on the way to calm the situation.

Last month, property of unknown value was lost at St. Brigid’s Girls’ High School Kiminini in Trans Nzoia County, following a fire incident that burnt a section of a two-floors dormitory Tuesday night.

The administrator said that no students was injured since all the learners were in their classrooms studying.

“All the girls are safe. We shall do investigations to find out the real cause of fire. I want to assure parents that the students are safe, so is the school,” Metto said.

The fire was contained some minutes before midnight following quick response from the Trans Nzoia fire department and other emergency response teams.

“The response from the fire department, the police and other stakeholders was very effective and efficient,” he said.

The Girls’ National school Principal Inviolelata Lukorito said an assessment will be done to determine the cause of fire and the magnitude of damage.

“As much as some our girls lost their belongings, we’re happy that all of them are safe, we shall do an assessment on this incident,” Lukorito said.

On her part, Trans Nzoia County Director of Education Dr. Salome Maina told the girls not to panic and should instead concentrate on their studies.
