The family of the police officer who was allegedly abducted along Thika Road is seeking government aid to help them trace their missing son.

Speaking to reporters, Omar Dida said that his son Osman Godana, Senior Police Sergeant was abducted on Monday at around 9 pm at the Blue Post along Thika Road while on his way back to Nairobi from his Garissa.

Mr Dida also said that his son was deployed at Laisamis Police Station in Marsabit County a year ago, and was in the company of three other guys at the time of his abduction.

“They were from Isiolo County with a GSU friend based in Nairobi County. On their way at Blue Post Junction, a black tinted Toyota Noah that had been trailing at high speed intercepted them and ordered him out. All of the men were armed. All of them had a smart shave, bulletproof vests and were armed. They bundled him into their car and took him off,” he told reporters In Thika.

“The four men were in a black vehicle that resembled a Toyota Noah. They blocked his vehicle next to Del Monte, on his way to Nairobi,” Mr Dida added.

He also said that his son’s phone has since gone off and he has reported the matter at the Gatanga police station under O/B number 20/14/9/2021.

Mr Omari also said that his son Osman had been redeployed to a police station in West Pokot but he was so hesitant about his transfer.

“All I know is that he did not report to West Pokot,” he said.

His family is asking Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang’i to produce their son or tell them where he is since he was allegedly abducted by his fellow police officers.

“We want the government to produce our son alive because from the details that we have, he was abducted by police officers. Let him be produced in court if he has committed any crime,” He concluded.
