Elders have on Saturday held a cultural ceremony at Mukurwe wa Nyagathanga shrine in Murang’a ahead of National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi’s coronation.
Governor Mwangi wa Iria had issued threats not to allow the ceremony to be conducted in the shrine, saying it would be against kikuyu culture and beliefs.
But Muturi received endorsement from a number of Governors from Mt Kenya to be the region spokesperson.
Among them Kiraitu Murungi (Meru) Muthomi Njuki(tharaka nithi) during a meeting on Friday at embu.
