The Jubilee ASSOCIATION will hold its National Delegates Conference (NDC) on the 30th of this month at Kasarani Stadium, Nairobi.

In a statement published in newspapers yesterday, Secretary-General Raphael Tuju referred to the agenda of the conference as; changes to the constitution and a number of party rules in line with the Constitution of Kenya, the Political Parties Act and the Electoral Act.

“The NDC will also address other issues that will be referred to it by the National Executive Committee (NEC) and the National Governing Council (NGC),” he said. Mr Tuju announced that all measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19 disease by the Ministry of Health will be considered at the conference, which will be attended by more than 3,000 delegates.

The conference will be chaired by Jubilee leader President Uhuru Kenyatta. Last week a Jubilee parliamentary group (PG) announced that party members would push for the removal of Deputy President William Ruto as a member and deputy leader.

This is because Dr Ruto and his entourage have rebelled against the party and joined the opposition United Democratic Alliance (UDA) which they have been denouncing. The MPs also said the post of deputy party leader would be divided to be held by more than one person, in a Jubilee Constitutional amendment to be approved in the NDC.

In a statement issued after a meeting at Safari Park restaurant on Thursday, the lawmakers, most of them from Mount Kenya, described the rebels who joined the UDA as unfit to be leaders.

“Such people have long smeared our party with mud. “Fortunately, Kenyans have seen them unite in a small corner where thieves, swindlers, scammers, pirates and socially unfit people have united as a political party,” he said.

The Jubilee delegation conference is also expected to approve the process of forming a coalition between the party and ODM. The meeting will take place 10 days before ODM leader Raila Odinga convenes a rally at Uhuru Park, Nairobi to announce whether he will run for the presidency in 2022 or not.

Circles say the summit to be held on November 9, 2021 will be attended by President Kenyatta along with many guests from the country and abroad.

Meanwhile, Ruto will pay a three-day visit to the stronghold of ODM leader William Ruto in Kisumu County.

According to a schedule released by United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party co-ordinator Eliud Owalo, Dr Ruto begun his visit in Kondele area. He presented a bus gift to the Kondole Youth group before addressing a public rally at Kondole market.

Dr Ruto later made his way to Nyahera constituency in Kisumu West constituency where he made financial contributions to help groups and mothers and boda boda operators. He completed his first day by visiting Nyalunya Primary School where he donated a bus.

On Wednesday, Dr Ruto will visit Migori County where he will be received by County Governor Okoth Obado. He will later conclude his visit to Luo Nyanza with a visit to Homa Bay County on Thursday.

Mr Owalo said the Deputy President would plan his visit to Siaya County “soon so that local people would not be left homeless in the grassroots economy.” Dr Ruto’s visit to Luo Nyanza counties comes just days after a two-day visit to neighboring Kisii and Nyamira counties in search of support.
