She was abducted in 2007 by her father and almost 14 years later she found her mother again

Fourteen years of happy but happy ending were lived by a mother in Florida, USA, who rediscovered her daughter, who was only 6 years old when she was abducted from their home in 2007. Jacqueline Hernandez, now 19, managed to embrace again her mom, Angelica Vences-Salgado, for the first time in almost 14 years. The good news was announced by the Clermont Police Department in Florida.

“This is a great example of what can be achieved when the police and the state work together and maintain open lines of communication,” said Clermont Police Chief Charles Broadway. “In this case, several services in different counties and states across the country have managed to create a power multiplier and help reunite the victim with her mother after 14 years,” he added.

Hernandez is close to her mother and family again. A photo from the moving moment was published by the Clermont Local Police, in a press release.

On September 2, Angelica Vences-Salgado received a message on social media from a woman claiming to be her daughter. Hernandez told her mother she was in Mexico and asked her to meet at the US-Mexico border in Laredo, Texas, on September 10.

Following a co-operation between the local police department and the federal services, in order to examine the seriousness of the case and to establish the identity of the victim, the meeting took place on the scheduled date.

“Based on the documentation provided by Angelica and Clermont Police, the woman was identified as Jacqueline Hernandez, who was abducted from her mother’s home in 2007,” the statement said.

So far, it remains unclear why Jacqueline chose to contact her mother now and what her living conditions have been all these years. Police noted that it remains an active warrant for the 43-year-old father.
