They did what we would all like to see here too! They set up a sleeping bus in Hong Kong

For those who have been deprived of travel and sleep, they may find that a new bus tour of Hong Kong is a solution.

The 76-kilometer (47-mile), five-hour route with a regular double-decker bus around the territory is designed to attract people who fall asleep easily on long journeys. It was inspired by the tendency of tired passengers to sleep on public transport.

“When we came up with ideas for new routes, I saw a social media post from a friend of mine who said he was stressed from work, he could not sleep at night,” said Kenneth Kong, marketing and business development director at ulu travel. of bus tours.

“But when he traveled by bus, he could sleep well. “His post inspired us to create this tour that allows passengers to just sleep on the bus.”

Tickets cost from $ 13 to $ 51 per person, depending on whether you choose seats upstairs or downstairs. A passenger bag includes eye mask and earmuffs for better sleep.

Tickets for the first “Sleeping Bus Tour” last Saturday sold out. Some passengers came prepared, bringing their own blankets and changing their shoes into slippers, while others brought backpacks.

“I was suffering from insomnia, so I’m here to try to get some sleep,” said Anson Kong, 25, one of the passengers on the first bus tour.

He said the tour was a good idea and “more interesting” than he expected.

On Saturday, the bus stopped so passengers could take pictures of scenic spots on Lantau Island in the city. One stop was the aircraft maintenance area near Hong Kong Airport, where passengers can take selfies with the planes in the background.

The tendency to sleep on public transportation is a form of preparation, according to Dr. Shirley Li, lead researcher at the Sleep Research Clinic and Laboratory at the University of Hong Kong.

“People in Hong Kong do not have enough time to sleep,” Lee said. “That’s why we have to use other hours of sleep, which is our daily commute, especially when we travel by public transport.”

“For some people, they may tend to associate public transportation with their sleep. “And that made it easier for them to sleep on the bus,” he said.
