Three Chinese nationals remanded after pleading guilty

On 25th October, 2021, a Multi-agency team comprising of officers drawn from the DCI and the immigration department raided Befresh Organics Ltd, China centre within Kilimani area and arrested three Chinese nationals;Wang Peng, Wang Hao and Gan Liyu.

The trio were charged in court yesterday for operating a business without relevant permits and approvals. They pleaded guilty to the charges and were remanded at Industrial Area Prisons awaiting their sentencing today, 2nd November, 2021.

The National Police Service cautions the public against employing unauthorized persons, as that would amount to an illegality.

“Our pride as a nation is being home to multi-ethnic and multi-national citizens who eke a daily living in their respective trades. While we appreciate all citizens, foreign and local alike who abide by our domestic laws, there has recently been an influx of foreigners venturing into businesses without relevant work permits and approvals,” NPS statement read.

The National Police Service encourages Foreign nationals to obtain relevant documentation and approvals from the Immigration Department.
