Residents who own plots and lands along the road have slammed Antuambui chief Gerald Kithia for illegally conducting road surveys.

Residents told BaiteTv that there is a specific area on the road along which the wealthy own land and that the chief avoids surveying it.

The residents claimed that they should have been given notice and the KPLC should have been told to turn off the power because the road expansion was being carried out while loose electric wires were hanging overhead.

According to the chief, residents were notified prior to the commencement of road expansion work, and a three-day meeting was held. He told BaiteTv that at the meeting, it was decided that 20 feet would be used as the measurement for the road expansion.

When asked to respond to claims that he was allowing the road expansion to take place while the power was still on, he said the KPLC had been notified and the power had been turned off.
