BaiteTv aired a disturbing series about the inhumane treatment of Meru County Council officers toward hawkers.
The officers, known locally as “kanjo,” harass those who conduct business in Meru town and its environs before 5 p.m.
The business people pleaded with the county council office, beginning with Meru County Governor Kiraitu Murungi and other senior county government officials, to allocate them more operating hours because their businesses are suffering as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
