It’s barely less than a month to the Kiagu Ward by-elections. The key political aspirants have started to campaign with an aim of succeeding the late Hon. Eunice Karegi as the next MCA of the Kiagu Ward. Despite the ban on political gatherings due to continued surge of covid-19, aspirants have decided new ways of meeting the electorates.

Aspirant Harun Muthamia made a stop over at Kiagu Township where he addressed his supporters.The crowd chanted his name when he said he had something for the residents.

“My vision is to see Kiagu ward becomes becomes ahead interms of development. Currently am sponsoring 700 students in Kiagu Ward at Kaimuri, Makandune, Gachuru, Mukuune  and Kiija Primary schools. Am sponsoring the students with my own money and when I become elected, I will sponsor over 2000 students inorder to relive our parents,” said Muthamia.

“I deserve to be in the Kiagu MCA race because I was part of a team that drafted a 5 year plan for the late Hon Eunice. With the late Hon. Eunice having left us, I feel that I have to see the dream come to pass. I feel am better compared to the rest in representing the Kiagu ward people as their leader as I understand what needs to be done,” said Muthamia.

“Repair of deplorable road especially the one along Kariee will be my first priority after I assume office. I will leave a legacy of ensuring the lives of people are uplifted. Earlier, I said hospitals are one of the milestones of enhancing development in Kiagu Ward. I intend to build a hospital in Kariee where there Is a public land which will result to a developed community,” said Muthamia.

Muthamia said that by God’s grace, on September 14, he would be emerge the winner in the Kiagu Ward MCA by election.

MCA Aspirant for Kiagu Ward by-election under Safina Party Of Kenya, Douglas Bundi Kirimi, urged Kiagu residents to back his MCA’s bid on September 14 and promised to enhance development.

“Kiagu residents deserve a leader who will defend and stand by them. The Meru County Assembly is not a place to sip tea; rather, it is a place for leaders to represent people’s concern,” said Bundi.

Bundi promised to make certain that people’s voices were heard and that resources would be made available to them.
