The World Scout Parliamentary Union (WSPU) (Global) Executive Committee today held its annual general meeting.
Due to the travel disruptions and other socioeconomic effects resulting from the COVID-19 Pandemic, this year’s meeting was held virtually via Zoom.
The main purpose of the meeting was to review the progress of the implementation of WSPU Action Plan 2019-2022.
The meeting also deliberated on the strategies of expanding WSPU membership and mobilization of resources for the organization.
Other items on the agenda was in respect to enhancing the cooperation with the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM), the National Scout Parliamentary Associations and the National Scout Organizations.
The meeting further explored ways in which the organizations under the Scouts Movement can accelerate the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals.
The meeting was chaired by Hon. Dr. Thamrong Dasananjali, the WSPU President and attended by other members including Dagoretti South MP, who is also the 3rd Vice President and WSPU Kenya President, Hon. John Kiarie, Jacky Deromedi – France, Yong Tak CHO – Korea, WSPU Secretary General, Sennie OH – WSPU Headquarters, Gen. Worapong Sagnanetra Member of the Senate of Thailand Chairperson of Thai National Parliamentary Association, Ms. Djuna Bernard Member of the Chamber of Deputies of Luxemburg and in attendance was Mr. Poppins Misoi WSPU Kenya Executive Director.
During the meeting WSPU Kenya President , Hon John Kiarie made a strong case for the WSPU Africa Assembly Nyeri 2022.
