Dp Ruto allies in Jubilee planning an official walkout soon

Jubilee party secretary General Rafael Tuju says he will not engage those publicly calling for his resignation in the wake of another election defeat.

Tuju says the MPS were free to take whatever action they deemed fit.

Jubilee party Secretary-General Rafael Tuju and vice-chairperson David Murathe have targets on their backs.

Despite being one of the politicians who campaigned for Jubilee’s Kariri Njama in Kiambaa, Kieni Mp Kanini Kega believes party officials should have done a lot more to avoid loss.

In a series of tweets, Kega goes ahead to name party officials he believes are working for the betterment of the Jubilee party, excluding Tuju and Murathe.

As he put it in his tweet, those he hadn’t named should resign before they were physically ejected from the party.

These sentiments are now being echoed by other leaders, all be it indirectly as the party continues to perform dismally and the deputy president consolidates his hold of Mt Kenya.

Youth and gender chief administrative secretary Racheal Shebesh says the 50/50 achievement in Kiambaa should be credited to the politicians who campaigned for three weeks, noting it was perhaps time the party management was left to politicians.

“I think the only challenge we have with Jubilee it’s because we have people who talk recklessly. We have people who give our party a bad name. Then when it comes to going looking for votes, you didn’t see them on the ground,” said Sabina Chege, Women Rep Murang’a County.

But despite being faced with pressure to quit, Tuju insists he is being used as a scapegoat and will not engage those calling for his ouster publicly.

In a phone interview with NTV, Tuju says: “There have been calls for my resignation, I cannot have a back and forth about the party with ranking members who are MPs in public. I am a simple employee of the secretariat and they are my employers and bosses. It will be inappropriate for me to respond.

Jubilee is a strong party there are a few bad people around you Jubilee. The best thing we need to do is restructuring and also involve a lot of young people. We have seen young people feeling like they are left out,” said Sabina Chege, Women Rep Murang’a County.

Those allied to Deputy President William Ruto are also planning an official walkout soon. They’re looking at the win in Kiambaa as a boost that would sway the popular Mt. Kenya region their way.

“Jubilee party no longer enjoys any support in this region. You increased taxes for the common commodities for the Wananchi. Now petrol has shot up, diesel has shot up, cooking gas is now something unaffordable,” said Irungu Kang’ata, the senator for Murang’a County

However, Ndaragwa MP Jeremiah Mp Jeremiah Kioni is warning those interpreting the Kiambaa win as the death of the Jubilee party and the waning popularity of the president

Kioni says with the Kikuyu vote having been split. The hustler narrative is at best a future opposition outfit.
