Jubilee threatens Moses Kuria

The ruling Jubilee Party (JP) has threatened to fire Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria for what it claims is a “violation of party rules”.

JP deputy chairman David Murathe said Mr Kuria had violated party rules, praising PEP candidate George Koimburi following the by-elections in Juja constituency.

“The case of Moses Kuria has clearly violated party rules by campaigning for a candidate who is not a member of the party that fielded him in parliament,” said Mr Murathe.

Kuria is the leader of PEP, a party that has sparked fierce competition against Jubilee candidate Susan Njeri Waititu in the Juja election.

“The party has no choice but to oust him,” Murage warned.

The Juja parliamentary seat remained vacant following the death of Francis Waititu in March 2021.

Ms Njeri is the widow of the MP, who is swallowing the post left vacant by her husband.

The National Executive Committee (NMC) Jubilee on Wednesday ordered the disciplinary committee to begin strategies to oust Mr Kuria and several special lawmakers for violating party rules.
