As the General Election of August 9, 2022 approaches, political leaders are devising various strategies to win the election and are currently working on a strategy for joining political parties. In various locations, meetings on the presidential candidates are being held.

Mount Kenya politics have generated a lot of political heat. The Mount Kenya Foundation, which is led by Ibui, a close ally of Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi, has come under fire. Ibui and his allies, including SK Macharia, the owner of citizen Tv, have been seen endorsing Raila as a presidential candidate.

Some leaders have stated that a few individuals cannot plan for the people on how Mount Kenya East politics should be conducted. Speaker of the National Assembly Justin Muturi and Igembe South MP John Paul Mwirigi are among the leaders who have spoken out against the Mount Kenya Foundation leaders.

John Paul Mwirigi has expressed his displeasure with the plans being carried out by Mount Kenya Foundation chairman Ibui, Peter Munga, and others.

“In this country, there are some bad politics going on. When a few select individuals conduct meetings in a hotel and make decisions for the Meru County residents on which presidential candidate they should elect, those politics are not leading us in the right direction,” John Paul said.

“I ask residents of Meru County if they have ever seen Munga come to Meru County. I’m not sure why these few people are convening meetings in Nairobi to decide which presidential candidate Meru County residents should vote for.

“They’ve started holding meetings to discuss which presidential candidate the people of Mount Kenya East should vote for. If these people are serious, they should go to the villages and get people’s opinions on which presidential candidate they want elected,” said John Paul,” said John Paul

“We will not allow a small group of people to decide for us who should be our presidential candidate. Meru County is currently ranked 29th in the country in terms of road construction development, and 11th in Mount Kenya,” said John Paul.

“In Meru County, we are not at the forefront of development, but other areas are. These few select leaders want to look down on us whenever they learn that we have a candidate we want to promote,” said John Paul.

“I implore Justin Muturi to be unconcerned about the decisions of a few select individuals because those who have his vote are the voters on the ground. Citizens have the power to decide which political path we will take through voting,” said John Paul.

Meanwhile, Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi has announced that the Bus Party has been revived.

“When you read the newspaper, you’ll notice that the bus party has been resurrected and is on its way in full force. Residents should respond to the word “bus party” with the word “power,” because the bus party has resurrected with power,” said Kiraitu.

Speaking during an event, a politician said that Speaker Justin Muturi was the presidential candidate for the Bus Party.

He said Muturi should be aware that the governors, Njuri Ncheke elders, and party members all support him, and that he is expected to unite the Mount Kenya region.
