Residents of Ikoone-Tigania have accused their leaders of depriving them development.

They told BAITETV the road from Irindiiro to Ngutu is paved with large stones, making it impossible for motorcycle operators to transport passengers.

The boda boda riders are forced to take long-distance alternate paths.

They said they have to wait for the water levels to drop before crossing bridges when it rains. They criticized their leaders for making false promises about bridge repairs.

“Due to the state of the roads, expectant mothers are forced to give birth before arriving at the hospital.

We used to depend on Miraa, but the loss of the market has made us unable to provide for our families,” said a resident.

Another resident said: “Young people are jobless. We implore our MCA to ensure the development of opportunities in order to prevent youth from becoming useless.

Furthermore, due to many obstacles, not all young people complete higher education. Young people would benefit from employment by starting their own businesses.

College students do not receive enough bursaries. We request the busary aloocation for each student to be increased to Ksh 10,000.

It will motivate primary school students to realize that they will be able to complete their higher education.”
