One Strong Political Weapon Dr. Mwiti Possesses That May Be A Great Advantage Ahead Of 2022

Residents of Kathera, Uruku and Mikumbune have complimented South Imenti Mp 2022 aspirant Dr. Shadrack Mwiti for the expansion and repair of roads.

Residents told journalists that he was a significant figure in the neighborhood and praised him for spending over Ksh 1 million on road repairs.

“We’ve been dealing with the problem of a bad road connecting Kathera, Uruku, and Mikumbune for years. The road has been impassable for a long timean I appreciate Dr. Mwiti’s efforts. I’ve seen people drowning in the Thingithu river since when growing up,” said Muriungi.

Mutwiri, a former councilor said that rocky roads in Kathera were replaced with marram. He urged residents to rally behind Dr. Mwiti and appreciate the work he is doing.

“On behalf of the community, I thank Dr. Mwiti and pray that God blesses him. I implore residents of Uruku, Kathera, and Mikumbune to elect a leader with Dr. Mwiti’s track record. Kongone, Maringine, and Marimba roads have also been renovated by Dr. Mwiti,” said Muriungi.

Muriungi said Dr. Mwiti spent his own money to ensure that lorries delivering tea produce did not take a longer route through Marimba on their way from Nkando to the Imenti tea factory.

Mutwiri said that when Dr. Mwiti was elected as the KTDA director for upper Kathera, he had a vision of value addition in tea farming.

“He chose to restore the Kathera-Uruku road because he thought it was necessary and may help value addition in tea farming,” said Mutwiri,”

Mwenda  Mathiu said Dr. Mwiti’s vision was for four roads to be repaired that were in a bad state. He said that the repairs also included the Marimba, Kirema, and other roads that connected the people of Nkuene.

“Residents of Nkuene pledged their support for Dr. Mwiti’s quest for MP and invited the rest of South Imenti to do the same.
I believe that if he is elected as the next South Imenti Member of Parliament, locals would see similar changes. He has launched his candidacy for MP in 2022, and I urge citizens who have benefited from his efforts to support him,” said Mwenda  Mathiu.

“He told me once that if he is elected, he will use CDF funds in conjunction with his own to meet the development targets he has set for South Imenti. In South Imenti, there are numerous roads that have never been opened. I feel that rebuilding roads can benefit individuals,” said Mwenda  Mathiu.

“He had previously spent over Ksh 1 million, and he expects to spend between Ksh 600,000 and Ksh 700,000 on current road construction. His vision is for tea farming to thrive as a through value addition as a result of improved roads,” said Mwenda  Mathiu.

“Dr. Mwiti promised that by the end of his term as KTDA director, he would ensure that all impassable roads were repaired.
He kept his word and built the Muchichune-Kongone-Kinachu road. Which was in a very awful state,” said Mwenda  Mathiu.

“He hired a bulldozer and had nearly 17 kilometers of road restored. With his own money, he built the Maringine-Kabere and Kirima-Kamau roads. He offered to pay the construction of a bridge connecting Uruku village to the rest of the community,” said Mwenda  Mathiu.

“He committed to work with KTDA directors who were elected after his term ended to ensure that all road projects were finished. He spent his money on road repairs because it was something he had always wanted for his people since he was a child,” said Mwenda  Mathiu.

Patrick Kinoti, Lower Kathera KTDA director said he would reach out to Upper Kathera KTDA director to arrange for the maintenance of the newly repaired Kathera-Uruku-Mikumbune road.

He said it would spur economic growth in the area and ease communication between villages.
