Prosecution presents 3 more witnesses in the Monica Kimani murder case

The Director of Public Prosecutions Wednesday morning presented three more witnesses in the Monica Kimani murder case involving Joseph Irungu alias Jowie and Jackie Maribe.

David Duncan of the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) confirmed that the vehicle allegedly used to transport Jowie the prime suspect, to the hospital belonged to the former TV journalist Maribe.

In his testimony, Job Maina from National Registration Bureau also confirmed the identity details of the 2 accused.

Appearing before trial judge Grace Nzioka, Chief Police Inspector, Fredrick Gichuki, took the court through a trajectory movement of Maribe’s vehicle as captured by CCTV camera, while on major roads in Nairobi.

Michuki told Justice Grace Nzioka that he received a request from the DCI on September 24 for CCTV footage of car registration number KCA 031E.

Monica was killed in her apartment at Lamuria Gardens in Kilimani on September 19,  2018, a day after she arrived from Juba.

The prosecution team has so far presented 25 witnesses in the trial, with eight more to go.

The hearing will continue before Lady Justice Grace Nzioka on 15th November 2021.
