In a new crime wave that has gained currency in the country, tech-savvy cybercriminals and jobless university graduates are hacking into bank accounts of the dead and those fighting for their lives in hospitals, sweeping their accounts clean.
The scammers target wealthy individuals who have died and their families place their death announcements in newspapers.
As Stephen Muiruri writes, they even attend burial planning meetings to gather more information on their victims.
