14 rockets fired against military base

Must read

Fourteen rockets were fired today in Iraq against the US military-led Ain al-Assad military base, Col. Wayne Marotto, a spokesman for the International Coalition against Terrorism in Iraq, said on Twitter.

“At around 12:30 local time, Ain al-Assad air base was attacked with 14 rockets. They fell on the base and its perimeter. The defense systems were activated. “Preliminary information indicates three lightly injured,” wrote Colonel Maroto.

Earlier, a senior Iraqi military official told AFP that seven rockets had been fired at the base.

This is the latest in a series of attacks that have now become routine against US interests in Iraq.

A total of 49 attacks have been carried out since the beginning of the year against US interests in Iraq, where 2,500 US troops are deployed as part of the International Counter-Terrorism Coalition.
