18 more succumb to the virus in 403 new cases

Kenya’s Ministry of Health reported 403 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, following the testing of 5,577 samples.

County distribution is as follows: Nairobi 47, Kisii 34, Kericho 33, Nyeri 31, Siaya 31, Kisumu 29, Mombasa 27, Nakuru 22, and Homa Bay 21, Migori 18, Nyamira 17, Bomet 15, Busia 13, Kakamega 8, Baringo 7, Trans Nzoia 6, Uasin Gishu 6, Kiambu 5, Vihiga 5, Bungoma 4, Kirinyaga 4, Murang’a 2, Embu 2, Narok 2, West Pokot 2, Kajiado 2, Kilifi 2, Laikipia 2, while Machakos, Meru, Nandi, Garissa, Kitui and Kwale have single cases each.

With 1,864,020 tests completed so far, the country’s Positive rate has risen to 7.4%.

There are 399 Kenyans among the cases, 4 foreigners, and 215 males and 188 females.

A total of 18 people have died, increasing the country’s death toll to 3,396.

442 persons have recovered from the sickness, with 418 from the Home Based and Isolation Care program and 24 from different health facilities across the country. The total number of recoveries is now 120,031.

There are 957 patients in various health facilities across the country, with 4,796 patients in the Home Based Isolation and Care program.

The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) has 163 patients, 30 of whom are on ventilatory support and 113 on supplemental oxygen. Twenty patients are being monitored.

There are 105 patients on supplemental oxygen, 100 of whom are in general wards and 5 of whom are in High Dependency Units (HDU).
