A family in Makhkuyu Village in Navakholo constituency in Kakamega County is seeking justice for their 10-year old class four girl who was allegedly defiled and impregnated by her 20-year-old cousin in June 2019.
The parents reported the matter to the police where the perpetrator was arrested but later released under unclear circumstances, the parents now claim their efforts to find assistance from the local administrators and the police station have proven futile.

According to the victim’s parents, the suspect grabbed her while she was on her way to the shop taking her to a nearby bush where he defiled her.
The case was reported at Lutaso police station where the suspect was arrested but was later on released under unclear circumstances.
Since then, the suspect has been on the run. It is reported that he attacked Joy’s parents when he was released and they are now concerned about their safety. The parents are now requesting authorities to help them seek justice for their daughter and bringing the culprit to book.
