Politicians align themselves with political parties whenever general elections are approaching.
There is a lot of political deception, backstabbing, and betrayal going on at the moment.
Before the 2017 general elections, Hon Bishop Kawira Mwangaza received a visit from a guest, Mithika Linturi, in September 2016.
Kiraitu Murungi, Mithaka Linturi, and former Meru Women Rep Florence Kajuju formed the Kikali group, which was affiliated with the Jubilee party.
The Kikali group determined the aspirants who would vie for various elective seats in Meru County.
Mithika Linturi, the Member of Parliament for Igembe South at the time, had a message from Jubilee for Hon Bishop Kawira Mwangaza via the Kikali group.
“I’d like to ask you to work for the Jubilee party in the presence of your husband. I can guarantee you the Nominated MCA seat, but you despise it. As we agreed, you will live in Meru while we work together in government,” Mithika Linturi said.
When Hon Bishop Kawira Mwangaza and her husband, Apostle Murega Baichu, disagreed with Mithika Linturi’s suggestion, he agreed to let her join the Jubilee party.
“Let us agree that Kawira will join the Jubilee party and compete in the nominations as long as there are no irregularities,” Apostle Murega Baichu said.
Mithika Linturi said that because he was in charge of Jubilee nominations, he would ensure that the nominations were free, fair, and transparent.
Something unexpected happened later. While addressing the public, Kiraitu Murungi said that there were no jiggers in parliament.
The criticism was aimed at Kawira Mwangaza, implying that she was unfit to run for the Meru County woman representative seat.
” I’d like to call the queen of Meru, Florence Kajuju. We are not clapping because we are stupid. And everything I’ve said I’m going to do, I’m going to do it. I’ll come to Meru County and give you money,” Kiraitu Murungi said.
“Will you cast your vote for Florence Kajuju, my people?” I’d like to see those who have promised to vote for her raise their hands. I’ve heard of someone removing people’s jiggers. I’d like to inform her that no jiggers are removed in parliament. There are no jiggers in the parliament,” Kiraitu Murungi said.
“In parliament, people wear official shoes and are dressed in suits and ties,” Kiraitu Murungi said.
Following the sentiments, Kawira Mwangaza faced a massive opposition.
Mithika Linturi caused chaos at her meeting in Kabuitu, Igembe Central after she announced that she would run for Meru County Women Rep without being a member of the Jubilee or Kikali parties.
Looking at all of these situations, it is clear that there are leaders who claim to be in charge of organizing political parties and deciding which candidates will run for seats.
They are dissatisfied when things do not go as planned. They do not take into account what citizens have to say, but instead want to be in charge of a political party and persuade citizens to vote in a certain way.
Mithika Linturi and Kiraitu Murung have started organizing political parties once more. When they discover that a particular political party is desired by a large number of people, they are at the forefront of everything that occurs.
Mithika Linturi is Kiraitu Murungi’s right hand in the UDA party.
Kiraitu Murungi, on the other hand, claims to be forming a political party for the people of Mt. Kenya, but is actually Mithika Linturi’s right arm.
It implies that where you see Kiraitu Murungi, you are looking at Mithika Linturi, and where you see Mithika Linturi, you are looking at Kiraitu Murungi.
The question is whether they will be successful in their mission a year before the general elections.
They had organized themselves with all the MPs and formed the Jubilee party, which included the Kikali group, at a time similar to now in 2016, before the 2017 general elections.
However, with a year to go before the August 9 general elections in 2022, there appear to be disagreements, and they do not appear to have established a firm strong party in Meru County.
The big question is whether they will be successful. The big question is what determines other aspects of political factors to be considered among Kawira Mwangaza’s political direction.
Kawira Mwangaza has a large number of supporters in Meru County, and the question is where she will lead her supporters in terms of politics.

Another question we should ask is which political party she will consider. Only time, hours, and days will tell as events play out.
