2022 Lang’ata election: Jalang’o reaffirms Mp bid

Must read

Felix Odiwuor Kodhe, better known as Jalang’o, a Kiss FM co-host, has confirmed that he will not change his mind about running for the Lang’ata parliamentary seat in next year’s general election.

Jalang’o, who joined Nation Media Group as the host of a new lottery show dubbed Omoka Rahisi over the weekend, urged the youth to register to vote for him during an interview on NTV on Tuesday.

He explained, “Naenda kuwa MP wa Lang’ata, vijana tubadilishe kura tujenge Lang’ata mpya.”

“Yes, mark this day,” he said when asked how serious he was about the situation. I don’t go after things I won’t be able to get.”

The comedian shared a poster of himself with the words ‘Lang’ata 1’ on his social media accounts on Friday morning. The poster had an orange background, indicating that he will run for president under the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).

He dismissed a viral poster showing him campaigning for the Lang’ata seat on the Amani National Congress (ANC) ticket two weeks ago.

Jalang’o graduated from Daystar University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Community Development.

He says he signed up for the course to learn how to manage and interact with his constituents once he is elected.

“If you are not influential, you can only do so much for society. I want to make a difference in Langata and help them reclaim their former glory “On July 17, 2020, he said during a live interview on Mpasho.

“I chose community development because, as the Member of Parliament for Lang’ata, I need to be able to deal with community issues.”

He stated that he wants to enter politics because he is tired of crying for change when he has the ability to effect change.

“It is difficult for a common ‘Mwananchi’ to bring about the change we all want, but not for a politician.” If you’re in politics and not out, it’s easy to bring about change,” he said.

Lang’ata has sparked a lot of interest, with several candidates vying for the seat of current MP Nixon Korir in 2022.

If you live in or vote in the Lang’ata constituency, Jakakimba wants to be your next MP in the 2022 elections, when he hopes to succeed first-term Jubilee MP Nixon Korir.

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s personal assistant, now ODM leader, serves as Odinga’s senior adviser at his Raila Odinga Secretariat on Capitol Hill.

Following his graduation from the University of Nairobi’s School of Law Parklands campus in 2005, he met Raila Odinga the following year and became one of his most ardent supporters, earning his trust and admiration.

Raila hired him as a personal assistant at his Lang’ata constituency office in early 2007, just as general election politics were heating up; he replaced an aide who died in a road accident.

He would become the youngest law student to earn a Master’s degree in 2008, at the age of 26. After finishing first in his undergraduate class, he was awarded a full scholarship to the University of Newcastle.

Up until 2013, he worked as Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s official personal assistant and head of the diary.

Jakakimba, on the other hand, is no stranger to active politics, having run in the Homa Bay senatorial by-election in 2015 following Senator Otieno Kajwang’s death. He was not nominated.
