The U.S. military has launched airstrikes against Iranian-backed militias in Iraq and Syria on Sunday (July 27th) in retaliation for UAV attacks on U.S. personnel and facilities in Iraq. the Pentagon.
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, at least five people were killed and many more were injured in the attacks.
“As tonight’s strikes show, President Biden has made it very clear that he will take action to protect US personnel,” the Pentagon said in a statement.
The strikes targeted operational facilities and weapons depots at two locations in Syria and one in Iraq, according to the Pentagon.
