6 people die on the spot in fatal ‘Kwa Maji’ crash

Six people died  Wednesday night in a road crash at ‘Kwa Maji’ area in Loitokitok, Kajiado County

The driver of the private vehicle which was heading towards Loitokitok town around 8:00 PM lost control and hit a concrete sewer manhole before rolling several times.

The driver and two passengers died on the spot while a woman who was in the same vehicle with her two children were rushed to the Loitokitok sub-county hospital where they succumbed to their injuries.

Loitokitok sub-county Police Commander Reuben Muli confirmed the incident and urged motorists to be alert on the roads.

The bodies of the six were taken to the sub-county hospital awaiting a postmortem while the vehicle was towed to the police station.

Meanwhile, a 29-year-old man died after being trampled on by an elephant in Imbirikiani area in Kajiado South.

The man is reported to have been walking home at around 11pm from Namelok town when he was attacked and killed by the jumbo.

Residents lamented the animals had strayed from the Amboseli National Park and called on the Kenya Wildlife Service to relocate the elephants back to the park to avoid further attacks.
