A quantity of 744 kilos of cocaine, the sale value of which is estimated to exceed 18 million dollars, was confiscated in El Salvador during an operation to dismantle a network of traffickers operating mainly on the country’s beaches, the prosecutor’s office announced on Thursday.
The traffickers were based in La Paz and San Miguel, in the eastern part of the country between Honduras and Guatemala. Nine people were arrested in the operation, which took place on Wednesday and Thursday, including a Guatemalan.Remaining Time-0:00FullscreenMute
The operation was carried out by the drug prosecution service, following information that spoke about the use of beach facilities in the two areas, which are bathed by the Pacific Ocean, in order to move “large quantities of drugs”, according to the prosecutor’s office
In addition to drugs, police confiscated several rifles and pistols.
