The death toll from the collapse of a high-rise apartment complex near Miami has risen to nine, local officials say. At the same time, the anxiety for the 21-year-old Greek missing person is still high.
“We were able to find four more bodies in the rubble, as well as human remains,” said Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniela Levine Cava. “So far, one person has died at the hospital and we have found eight dead at the scene, so I confirm that the death toll is nine,” he told a news conference.
“We are continuing our efforts to find him alive,” Levine Cava was quoted as saying by CBS television.
At the same time, more than 150 residents of the apartment building remain missing, with the information talking about 159.
