Protesters gathered in the Indian capital today, outside a crematorium, where a 9-year-old girl was allegedly raped and killed in the latest incident of a series of violent sexual crimes against women in India, which have caused international outcry.
Police say the girl was killed when she went to fetch water Sunday from a crematorium near her home in the Cantonment district of New Delhi.
Her family said that when the girl did not return, they went to look for her, while they saw some of the alleged perpetrators, who were working in the crematorium, cremating her body against the wishes of the family.

“She just went to get water and that happened to her,” said one of the protesters, Tina Verma, 27. “People and her family want justice for what they did to her.”
Police say four men have been arrested on charges of rape, murder and intimidation.
