Bystanders catch hit-and-run boda boda rider after police officer is hit

A police officer suffered major injuries when a boda boda rider deliberately ran him down with a motorcycle along Meru-Makutano road in Meru County.

The officer was walking along the road near the intersection of Meru-Makutano road and the road leading to Meru Level 5 hospital, and the boda boda rider struck him before taking off, An eyewitness said.

Eyewitnesses successfully caught the rider after he tried to flee.

The boda boda rider was arrested, while the police officer was transported to the hospital with possible broken bones.
