North Imenti MP Hon. Abdul Rahim Dawood’s vehicle was involved in a minor collision with another car in Meru Town.
Hon. Rahim’s vehicle is reported to have shunt into the back of a car that was reversing, causing the vehicles to suddenly stop, which led to the vehicles being involved in a damage-only collision. No injuries were reported.
Bystanders confirmed the Mp’s driver was with the car at the time of the incident.
“After he went and came with the police, the Mp’s driver demanded Ksh 1000 from the other driver,” an eyewitness said.

Video footage showed bystanders urging the Mp’s driver to forgive him.
Elsewhere A lorry overturned at Riiji bridge, Nkabune Village in Meru County.
According to reports, the incident took place when the tyre of the lorry burst and the driver lost control over the vehicle.
The lorry was carrying building stones.
However, no injury has been reported in the accident. Only road guard rails have been heavily damaged, sources added.
“Half of the lorry is dangling from the bridge. Only God has stood with the occupants,” an eyewitness said.
“The occupants were lucky because the doors did not open. They couldn’t have survived the fall,” another eyewitness said.
The lorry was unable to move as it had overturned on the bridge.
