The Taliban’s seizure of power in Afghanistan has wreaked havoc. Citizens do everything they can in their despair to leave the country, even boarding planes that take off, even if it costs them their lives.
At the same time, the Taliban are celebrating their victory by having fun in amusement parks and gyms.
Reuters reporter Hamid Salizi, who lives in Kabul, posted on Twitter snapshots of a Taliban group having fun in an amusement park, playing with colliders and even climbing on carousel horses. Salizi’s original posts have been deleted, but the videos have been reposted by other users.
Another video circulating on the internet was allegedly taken at the gym of the Kabul presidential palace, after it was occupied by the Taliban. In the footage, the Taliban appear to be testing instruments and weights, laughing and taking pictures.
