Ngeru High School students strike

Must read

Ngeru Boys Secondary School in Tharaka Nithi County students went on the rampage, demanding the immediate reinstatement of their preferred principal.

A resident said the students damaged a transformer located in the school’s compound without regard for their own safety. She said that the students smashed all the windows.

“I was taken aback by the actions of Ngeru Boys Secondary School students last night. The students have returned to school, and the administration is not concerned about their grievances even after the strike,” a parent said.

She said according to reports the students had developed a bond over the years with the transferred principal.

“I implore the school administration to reinstate the principal so that the school can return to normalcy. The students were escorted back to school by the police, however, we doubt that things have returned to normal because they may decide to hold another strike because their issues haven’t been resolved,” a resident said.

Another resident said he was angered by the student’s actions of damaging the transformer. He said it could have started a fire that could have burned his children.

“I request that the school administration meet their demands of reinstating the principal they are seeking. You never know what they’re might do next,” another resident said.

  2. Horrific school bus accident which killed a teacher
  3. 3 arrested with illegal firearms

Another resident said they were perplexed as to why the students tampered with the transformer without fear of being shocked or injured.

She urged Education CS Magoha to visit schools and conduct investigations to determine the cause of the frequent strikes.
