A 25-year old man is being held at Kabianga police station in Kericho county for allegedly stabbing his mother to death over land issues.
It is claimed that the suspected brutally murdered his 60-year old mother after she stopped him from leasing part of the family land.

Residents say that the suspect is known for his hot temperament and had been reported to the local authorities for his behavior however no action was taken against him

‘’The assistant chief had been informed prior to the killing but paid little attention to our claims, which is unfortunate given his behavior was wanting,’’ a resident said. Another one claimed that the victim might have been drank before committing the crime. ‘’We believe he drank alcohol and smoked bhang the whole night. We think that’s when he planned this massacre and there was no one to help since it was at the wee hours and everyone was still asleep,’’ the local said.
