MERU COUNTY: The body of a man was found with the hands chopped off in Thamare village in Meru County.
Residents suspect that the man was murdered and his body mutilated before being dumped.
Locals discovered the body along the road and the man was later identified as Mwenda.

No suspects have been identified and no motive established for the possible murder yet.
Purity said people in the community have died under mysterious circumstances in the past. She strongly urged the government to conduct investigations and apprehend the perpetrators.

“When I went to check on him this morning, the lights were turned on and the door was locked with a padlock. When I inquired about his whereabouts, his brother stated that he had left him lying on the veranda of a woman named Flora. As I walked back home, I discovered some of the deceased items along the way. At some point, I came across the deceased with a cut on the head and hands severed,” Purity said.
A resident said there is a lot of illegal brew in the Thamare community which can be linked to death cases. She urged the authorities to apprehend the dealers.

Another resident urged the government to beef up security to prevent similar incidents in the future.
The community promised to provide the police with the assistance they require to conduct investigations.
