One person has died and another person is injured following a serious crash involving a motorcycle and a lorry transporting Miraa that took place in Koogore, Imenti.
According to an eyewitness, there were two people on the motorcycle at the time of the crash where the passenger was pronounced dead.
The driver was then taken to hospital for serious injuries while the passenger was thrown under the overturned lorry.
Preliminary reports found that the accident took place when the speeding lorry entered the lane of a motorcycle traveling in the opposite direction.
“The lorry driver tried to swerve to the left but as the distance was too close, the two collided,” an eyewitness said.
According to another eyewitness, the road became slippery due to a recent upgrade. He cautioned drivers of Miraa vehicles against driving at high speeds with disregard to other motorists and passengers on roads.
