Must read

The Sub-Committee of the Public Accounts Committee in the National Assembly conducting Inspection Visits of Judicial Structures and Police Posts in the Western Region visited Siaya Law Courts and Muhoroni Law Courts.

The Delegation, led by Hon Otiende Amolo (Rarieda) visited the two Court houses, where they expressed great satiafaction with the final structure of the Siaya Law Courts, terming it as a true definition of Value for Money.

Despite there being a delay in Internet Connection, the construction has been finalized, with the Principal Magistrate assuring the legislators that the Judiciary, in consultation with the National Land Commission, is on the verge of completing the transfer of land ownership to the Judiciary.

In Muhoroni, the MPs noted these among other issues that had been highlighted by the Auditor General: Shelves in the Court room were weak, makeshifts and are movable, Sections of the roof were leaking as evidenced by the stained ceiling marks, Internal drainage and pavements were poorly done.

Parking areas were also poorly done, having been filled with loose chips contrary to the BQs that provided that the contractor was to excavate, fill with approved imported hardcore, well-watered, rammed and compacted.

The Sub-Committee continues its inspection visits in Vihiga and Eldoret today.
