Speculations as Hon. Kawira Mwangaza Barred From Distributing Uniforms, Makes Major Declaration

Must read

Meru County Mp Hon Bishop Kawira Mwangaza On Thursday, September 16, 2021, was barred from distributing school uniforms at Kirogine Primary School in South Imenti, Meru County.

She had been welcomed earlier by the teachers, and all preparations for the pupils to line up to receive their uniforms were ongoing.

“I am delighted to be here as a government official on behalf of President Uhuru Kenyatta. In order to receive support for our primary schools, my office and committee forwarded a proposal to the national government,” said Hon. Kawira Mwangaza.

“We have delivered uniforms, lockers, tents, and water tanks to over 200 schools in Meru County. As your leader, it is my responsibility to visit schools and learn about the difficulties that students face.

“I am expected to write a report on the number of students who have returned to school and those who have not reported back and are still in the mashinani after I leave Kirogine primary school.

“My duty as Mama County is to visit the mashinani and report on the students who have returned to school and those who have not, the challenges that are being faced, and how they can be addressed for a prosperous future,” said Hon. Kawira Mwangaza.

While Hon. Kawira Mwangaza was distributing uniforms to students, something unexpected occurred.

All pupils were ordered back to class by the headteacher. Upon inquiry, she said that she would not speak on camera to avoid landing into more trouble.

The process of distribution of uniforms was stopped and upon further inquiry, it was revealed that the orders were given by the South Imenti ACC known as Koi.

Hon. Bishop Kawira Mwangaza respected the orders and exited the school. She encountered enraged parents, some of whom attempted to distribute uniforms to pupils themselves.

Kawira advised them against the move and urged them to be patient as the proper channels would be used

“What amazed me is that Hon. Bishop Kawira Mwangaza arrived to distribute uniforms and was turned away with a lorry full of school uniforms,” said a parent.

“After being sent home from school owing to a lack of school fees, my child has been staying at home for a long time,” said a parent.

“When I heard Hon. Kawira Mwangaza was coming to the school to distribute uniforms, I took my child so she could get a pair. Am now being told to buy a new pair.

“Kiraitu Murungi’s government irritates me because it opposes development. I don’t hold it against the teachers because they agreed with me.

The teachers are also outraged by the Meru County Government’s decision, as they had warmly welcomed Hon Kawira Mwangaza to the school.

“If I had a whistle with me, I would have alerted all the parents so they could come and witness the incident,” a parent said.
