A passenger is holding two hostages on a bus on a highway in southern Germany, a local police spokesman said, adding that it had not yet been clarified whether the perpetrator was armed.
The two hostages are bus drivers, he added.
Police said they had closed a section of the A9 motorway south of Nuremberg, without giving a reason. According to the Bild newspaper, special police forces (SEK) have been deployed in the area and around 9.25, local time, three explosions were heard.
“A police helicopter is shedding light on the area,” the newspaper added.
