The two brothers, unknown how, were locked in the trunk while alone at home, as their parents were absent from work.
Anna and Mikhail Presnov were found dead several hours later, with the horrific truth being revealed by a police dog.
Both the 35-year-old mother of the children, Svetlana, and her 41-year-old husband, Stanislav, have been arrested for neglecting minors.
“In the beginning, the parents were looking for the children in nearby houses. “Then a police dog was able to locate the bodies of the children inside the trunk,” the police statement said.
