Must read

A man collapsed and died while walking home from a hospital in Meru County.

According to eyewitnesses, he was discovered dead on a road in Omone village.

“He is known as Eutychus Kimathi and was on his way home from hospital to his grandmother’s house. He is from the village of Kiathiria “said an eyewitness.

Another eyewitness said that he met her at her farm carrying a letter. He was sweating a lot, according to her.

He said he had not taken medicine when I asked him. He the left,” said an eyewiness.

Meanwhile, Laare police are investigating a case of murder after the body of a man was found dumped in Gautine village in Meru County.

The deceased identified as Dennis, was been employed as a tout in the matatus plying the Laare-Maua-Meru route.

Speaking to Baite TV, Laare OCS said investigations were underway to reveal who might have murdered the Dennis.

“The deceased was killed elsewhere and dumped on the scene but we are still conducting investigations to reveal where he might have been killed, why he was dumped on the scene. We have a lot of cases where many young men are engaging in such activities,” said Laare OCS Ezra Sambo.

Sambo said the young men in Laare have been at loggerheads with the police because of the curfew. He said the young men are aware that the shops are closed and taking the advantage because the owners have gone home.

According to eyewitnesses, Dennis was found dead with stab wounds to his eye, head and back after being dumped at the center of a road in Gautine village.

Kiogora, a brother to the deceased, urged the police to conduct investigations so that the suspects can be apprehended, taken into custody and charged in court.

“I received an early morning phone call and was told that my brother was found dead in the Gautine Village.
When I arrived on scene, I found out that his hands and legs were tied. It is wrong to murder someone who does his own work. Dennis was not a criminal and did have lot of money to be followed and murdered,” said Kiogora.

According to John, a colleague, Dennis had reported to work as usual and he had spent the entire day with him. Later in the evening he went home in good health.

John said that he waited for Dennis to report to work but he didn’t. He said that he later learned that he had passed on.

“We spent the entire day with tennis at work and had arrived at Laare at 6:00 PM. We left one another in good terms. The following morning, I reported to work as usual and at around 8:00 AM. When I arrived at work I asked for Dennis and was informed that he was discovered discovered dead with stab wounds and cuts,” said John.

John said that Dennis used to keep things to himself and even if he realized that someone had a disagreement with him, he remained silent and later consulted him for advise on how to handle the matter.

Another eyewitness said that when passengers would board the vehicle that Dennis had been employed and couldn’t afford fare, he requested them to pay whatever they had.

“We cannot conclude that Dennis was involved in immoral behavior because he has never been caught with someone’s wife, sexual behaviors or theft cases,” said an eyewitness.

Stanely, the deceased’s father claimed that his son might have been dragged when tied to a car.

“I was so shocked to see him in that state. My son was not a thief and was very hard working with his own work,” said Stanely.

Sambo urged the residents to inform the police when they see a suspicious person in the community who was not a member of the community.

“Our police officers are out on patrol throughout the night guarding each and every corner of the villages. The Nyumbakumi elders know the members of the community. I would be very happy if someone would witnesses came forward and share any leads they might have,” said Sambo.

Sambo said that he would ensure that the suspects were apprehended taken into custody and charged in the court.
