At least 1,000 videos in the possession of a former prisoner, which were presented in the newspaper “Le Monde” – An investigation has been launched, five officials were “beheaded”

Shocking allegations of horrific torture and rape of detainees in Russian prisons – accompanied by videos released to the public – are shocking.

The pictures and videos of the inhuman torture and rape were brought to light by the former prisoner in the Russian prisons, Vladimir Osetskin. He has in his possession much more material, which certifies the existence of an organized circuit of torture and rape, under the orders, in fact, of the prison administration.

As a refugee in France today, Osetsky brought to light the shocking revelations in the French newspaper Le Monde, which certifies the existence and authenticity of some 1,000 videos of the former prisoner. He is currently a human rights activist and runs the NGO “Gulagu.net”, which deals with the defense of prisoners’ rights and the reporting of crimes that take place inside prisons .

The first of 1,000 videos held by a Russian refugee in France was taken on February 18, 2020. It shows a detainee with his arms and legs tied screaming in pain as he is raped with a pole. As seen in the video, a detainee is holding the detainee, another is raping him and a third is filming the rape, even with the equipment of the prison administration.

The second video, dated April 10, 2020, shows a man standing over a prisoner, whose hands are tied with tape, and pressing his head with his boot. Another video, dated 25 June 2020, shows the rape of a prisoner tied to a rope in bed.

Russia’s Federal Prison Service and the Prosecutor General’s Office have launched an investigation, and the Saratov District Commission of Inquiry has launched an investigation into previous allegations of torture. Already, five prison officers have been removed from their posts.

A spokesman for the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, said the Kremlin was aware of the case. “As far as we know, the Federal Prison Service is dealing with the issue. “If the authenticity of this information is confirmed, this will of course be a reason for conducting a serious investigation,” said Dmitry Peshkov.
