Feud between Ruto and Raila reaches boiling point

Must read

DEPUTY PRESIDENT William Ruto has attacked ODM leader Raila Odinga in his Luo Nyanza stronghold claiming that the handshake between Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta disrupted the Jubilee government’s development plans.

Dr Ruto said the process of amending the Constitution through a Building bridges initiative (BBI) led by Mr Odinga contributed to the government’s failure to implement development projects that would benefit the Luo Nyanza area.

He added that the area was lagging behind in development due to the bad policies that have been run by leaders who were advocating for a constitutional amendment through the BBI.

“You lost four years of the Jubilee government that would be used to implement the Big Four agenda, ”he said yesterday morning in an interview on several radio stations broadcasting to Dholuo. The interview was conducted at the Ciala Resort restaurant in Kisumu.

Dr Ruto reiterated that the main purpose of amending the Constitution through the BBI was to restore the rule of the President with totalitarian powers.

Dr Ruto, who began his visit to the area on Tuesday, also attacked Mr Odinga for leading a party that has no national character. He said the ODM party does not have a specific development agenda despite being formed 15 years ago.

“You can’t run an ethnic party for 15 years while claiming it is national. Why do you claim to want to run for president when your party is built on ethnic grounds? ” Dr. Ruto asked.

The Deputy President reiterated that his United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party is the only national party in the country because its policies are aimed at the citizens of all classes. .

“I wonder why our opponents mock our wheelbarrow logo when I have never criticized their orange, lion and other symbols, “said Dr Ruto.

Following the interview, Dr Ruto’s meeting in the Kondele area was marred by violence after youths started throwing stones and chanting songs praising ODM and Mr Odinga.

On Wednesday, Deputy President William Ruto took his campaign to Homabay and Migori Counties where he said that he will not use power brokers in his quest to become Kenya’s fifth president in 2022.

Ruto said Kenyans will elect their leaders from President to MCA next year without fear or favour saying those meeting in hotels and boardrooms seeking endorsements will be in for a rude shock.

He reiterated that his priority next year will be to empower the youth through job creation instead of changing the constitution to create positions for a few.

“We will ensure that we offer them maximum support and protection that will make them generate jobs for millions of our jobless youth,” He said.

Ruto said 4 million youths remain unemployed in the Country yet they have the necessary skills and qualifications.

“We are redesigning our economy through a model that will uplift thousands of jobless youth, farmers and traders,” He said.

Ruto said the Hustler Nation will put Government funds that will sustainably generate employment and uplift small scale traders.

“It is the Boda Boda, Mama Mboga, fishermen, taxi drivers, farmers and other hustlers in Nyatike, Suna West, Awendo, Rongo and across the country who count in our progressive Bottom-Up Economic Model,” Ruto said.
