According to locals who spoke to BAITETV, a man was discovered dead and hanging from a tree on the morning of April 21 in Kanguene Kiguchwa.
That morning, the aunt was informed of a body hanging from a tree, and the man was identified as Kimathi, her nephew.
The subject was attached to a tree by a lesso and suspended by the neck.
“We learned that my nephew had hanged himself that morning and went to confirm it. He’d used a lesso to hang himself from a tree.
Assistant chief and police from Kibuchwa and Mikinduri arrived and took him to the morgue,” Lucy Mwiti told BAITETV.
“The deceased had a disagreement with his wife, and this occurred at a time when he was not on good terms with the rest of his family.
He’d reported his family to Njuri Ncheke and been given an acre of land.
His family resorted to witchcraft and planned to murder him in order to reclaim the land. After learning of their plans, He fled.
I implore the authorities to assist his wife and children in obtaining a share of the family land,” another resident told BAITETV.
