Miguna Alleges The Ambassador Ignored A Court Order

Lawyer Miguna Miguna yesterday complained that the Kenyan embassy in Germany had denied him travel documents despite a Supreme Court order.

In a Twitter message, Dr Miguna said Kenyan Ambassador Tom Amolo had fled as soon as he arrived at his office. ordered by the court.

“She wanted me to prove my citizenship and I showed her my ID and called me for a rehabilitation certificate,” said Dr Miguna.

The high court initially ordered the embassy to issue travel documents. It required Mr Miguna to obtain a visa from the Kenyan embassy within 72 hours to allow him to board a flight from Berlin, Germany to Nairobi.

The court ordered Air France to transport Miguna to Nairobi and hand over the valid travel documents. Deciding on Mr Miguna’s application, Judge Ong’udi said Mr Miguna had dual citizenship and needed a visa to be allowed to travel to Kenya.

Judge Ong’udi said, “I have considered all the evidence presented by the plaintiff’s lawyers (Miguna). I order the complainant to obtain a visa from the Kenyan Embassy in Berlin so that he can be allowed to fly back to Kenya.

He has dual citizenship in Kenya and Canada. ”
